The state's largest cultural arts center, the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center, is located in Pueblo. Opened in 1972, the Center contains meeting rooms, a dance studio, and a 500-seat theatre, as well as a recently completed art gallery. Other performing arts facilities include the Frank S. Hoag Recital Hall on the Colorado State University - Pueblo campus and the Pueblo Memorial Hall.

Parkview Episcopal Hopital is a full-service hospital, with 24-hour emergency services. St. Mary Corwin Hospital, also a full-service facility also offers residents 24-hour emergency care. Colorado State Hospital is the state's largest psychiatric hospital and provides psychiatric as well as alcohol and drug abuse treatment.

Law enforcement is among the best in the state and is provided to residents by the Pueblo Police Departments as well as by the Pueblo County Sheriffÿs Department. Fire protection for Pueblo residents is provided by the Pueblo Fire Department.
